Why this matters

She made it past the six-week checkup. That’s when it started.

A story many of the survivors in our community will recognize

Her baby is four months old. The checkups are over, and people have mostly stopped asking how she’s doing.

She hasn’t really slept in days. Her thoughts are racing, and some of them don’t feel like her own. She tells herself she’s just tired. She doesn’t know what postpartum psychosis looks like. Most people don’t.

It isn’t her fault. Nobody ever gave her the words.

A mother holding her baby

It doesn’t have to end this way. When the people around her know the signs, she can get help in time.

Why monthly gifts matter

A mother’s mental health crisis doesn’t wait for the next fundraising campaign.

Every September, our Is MOM ok? campaign reaches families who never knew what to look for. We’re proud of that work. But a mom who’s struggling in March can’t wait until September.

For most of the year, we’re asking, “Can we afford to keep doing this?” Steady monthly support lets us ask a better question: “How many more families can we reach?”

Here’s what monthly gifts make possible

  • We plan ahead instead of reacting. Provider trainings, warning-sign flyers, and outreach can be scheduled for the whole year, not squeezed in between campaigns.
  • We say yes. When a hospital asks for training or a reporter calls, we can answer yes, instead of turning opportunities away because we don’t have the capacity.
  • We’re there in the months in between. Education keeps reaching moms and the people who love them all year, including the quiet months when no campaign is running.

A small gift that arrives every month does something a larger one-time gift can’t. It’s support we can count on, so we can build on it.

For about the cost of one streaming subscription, you can help make sure a mother’s warning signs don’t go unnoticed.

A note from our founder

Hi, I’m Kristina.

I was a nurse, and I still didn’t see it coming. At five and a half months postpartum, I went completely outside of reality in a single morning. My husband stepped in and got me the care I didn’t know I needed.

I’m here because someone noticed. Not every mom has that someone.

Cherished Mom exists so more families know the warning signs before a crisis. That work only lasts if it keeps going every month, so I’m asking you to keep going with us.

What you help make possible

Inside the Circle of Hope

  • You put the question in front of more partners, sisters, and grandmothers: Is MOM ok?

Your gift keeps social media posts, billboards, and media content reaching family members and friends, so they know it’s okay to ask.

  • You help healthcare providers recognize the warning signs while there’s still time to act.

Your gift supports Cherished Mom webinar trainings that educate medical providers on postpartum psychosis and other serious risks for new moms.

  • You empower a survivor to turn her lived experience into meaningful advocacy.

Your gift supports our new program, Lived Experience to Lasting Change. This trauma-informed program empowers women who’ve experienced postpartum psychosis and other perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) to advocate for other women.

Cherished Mom in the news

Having the survivor perspective adds such an important and meaningful layer to recognizing and treating PPP. Incorporating more survivor stories into these trainings is a crucial way to highlight what PPP actually looks like for an individual, rather than just a list of symptoms.

Notes our donors shared with their gifts.

The Circle of Hope is brand new, so these notes come from past gifts to Cherished Mom.

The Circle of Hope is for you if…

  • You’ve lived it. You know how heavy it got, and what it would have meant if someone had noticed sooner.
  • You love someone who has. A wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend. Or you’re a grandmother who wishes someone had given you these words years ago.
  • You care for moms every day as a doctor, nurse, doula, or perinatal mental health provider, and you’ve seen what happens when the signs are missed.
  • You’re tired of waiting for the next headline. You’d rather help a little every month than read about another mother whose warning signs went unnoticed.
  • You believe a mom’s mental health matters as much as her physical health, and that checking on it should be as routine as checking her blood pressure.

Questions

Before you join

Here are the questions we hear most. Tap any question to see the answer.

Can $15 a month really make a difference?

Yes. $15 a month helps keep Is MOM ok? education in front of parents, partners, and families. Together, members fund prevention all year. Small gifts that arrive every month are what let us plan ahead instead of pausing between campaigns.

How is my gift used?

Your gift supports our core programs: warning-sign education for families and healthcare providers, our survivor community and advocacy program, and partnerships with hospitals and clinics. We direct each gift where it’s needed most.

Can I change, pause, or cancel my gift?

Yes, anytime. Email info@cherishedmom.org or call (423) 742-6739, and we’ll take care of it. No forms, no guilt.

When will I be charged?

Your first gift is processed when you join. After that, it renews on the same date each month, and you’ll get an email receipt every time.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. Cherished Mom is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 83-0760677. You’ll receive a receipt for every gift, plus one annual giving summary for your taxes.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Gifts are processed through Givebutter, our secure donation platform, using industry-standard encryption. Cherished Mom never sees or stores your full card number.

Can I give from my bank account?

Yes. Choose bank account (ACH) on the form. It also lowers processing fees, so more of your gift goes to the mission.

Can I give in honor or memory of someone?

Yes. Use the dedication option on the form to honor or remember someone special. Many of our members give in honor of a mom they love.

I already give to Cherished Mom. Why monthly too?

Thank you! Every gift matters. Monthly gifts are different because they let us plan a full year of education and say yes to trainings and partnerships, knowing you’ll be there next month too.

What if I’d rather give one time?

We’re grateful for every gift. You can make a one-time gift on the form above (just switch it from Monthly), or anytime at cherishedmom.org/donate.

Still have a question? Email info@cherishedmom.org or call (423) 742-6739.

Somewhere tonight, a mom is awake, and something feels wrong.

She won’t wait for next year’s awareness month to need help. The people around her need to know the signs now.

Every month we can plan ahead means more families, nurses, and doctors who know what to look for, before another family is blindsided.

That’s why this matters now, not someday.

Be a founding member. The Circle of Hope is in its very first year. Join now and you’ll be one of the people who built it from the start.

A final question

Will you be the someone who shows up?

I know there are a lot of good causes asking for your help. But I also know that tonight, there’s a mom who needs the people around her to notice.

You can help make sure they do. For $15 a month, you keep the question Is MOM ok? in front of the people who love her. And you can change or cancel anytime.

Every member means more moms are here to watch their children grow up.

Will you join me?
